Walking for Water!

As part of our Lenten fundraising, we took part in CAFOD's 'Walk for Water' campaign. We did this both and home and school to raise money. We made it slightly more difficult for ourselves by filling our water bottles up and carrying them in a tub!

Hot Cross Scones!

We worked with our amazing kitchen staff to bake delicious scones in preparation for Easter.

2019-20

3-0 Win for the Boys in Blue

Last weekend, FC Halifax Town played Maidenhead in the Vanarama National League and went on to win 5-2. During half time, our boys played their first-round match in the Calderdale Half-time cup. After a tough first half, the boys came out firing and went on to win 3-0 against Salterhebble J&I School. With 2 goals from Ted and 1 from Jude, the scoreline flattered us after a game that could've gone either well. St. Joseph's CPS will go on to play Parkinson Lane in the next round. Well done chaps!

Robinwood 2020

After an amazing 3 days at Robinwood, it's all finally come to an end. We've overcome fears, fought away the tears, congratulated with cheers, and had a few cheeky.....cans of pop. Year 6 have done themselves proud and actually had several members of staff come up and comment to us as teachers, saying how well mannered and polite we were as a school. I would also like to thank Mrs. Caufield for attending what it now becoming our annual adventurous school trip, as well as Mr. Jandzio, Chair of Governors, for all his support during the time away. The kids have been none stop talking about how much they loved having you there and how grateful they were to spend such a key moment of their childhood with members of staff who are so caring, understand and (believe it of not) FUN! Fantastic time away - very proud teacher, particularly after this week. (For more photos, please check out Seesaw)

Advent Song Special:
Are you ready for Christ?

Year 6: Are you ready for Christ

As the season of Advent gets underway, each class helps to plan, prepare and perform a liturgy and worship for the whole school. Week 2 of Advent fell to Year 6, and they left us with an original song to ask us, 'Are you ready for Christ?'.

Erupting volcanoes!

As part of our topic work, we created our own model volcanoes and took part in a science experiment to make them erupt.

Holy Week

To mark the start of Holy Week, we enjoyed some quiet prayer time outside with palm leaves.

Crushing it at Cross-Country

Having qualified as a team for the Calderdale finals (Ted 3rd, Billy 4th, Samuel 5th, Charlie 12th & Josh 14th) St. Joseph's CPS boys put on an amazing performance whilst racing at Saville Park Moor. It was such a mighty performance in the bitter cold, that they have managed to qualify for the West Yorkshire Finals, held at Temple Newsum in Leeds, this coming March. Fantastic effort lads, the 1k-a-day is really paying off!

DISCO DISCO DISCO

(Above: Our Headboy (Samuel) and Headgirl (Erin) show off their Christmas outfits before the big party!)
With music, food, games and cheer a plenty, this year's Christmas Disco may have been the best one yet!
Thanks to all those who attended and all those who volunteered their time to support this event - everyone had an amazing time - staff and student alike!
