At St. Joseph’s Catholic Primary School, Halifax, we understand the need to maintain a healthy lifestyle in order to develop and continue to learn in a successful, happy and enthusiastic way. Physical Education continues to remain a priority for the whole school.
When the additional premium was introduced we considered what the priorities were at our school:
Governors identified the need to improving teacher confidence and knowledge in all aspects of physical education.
School Staff identified the need to improve provision for all children during the school day, in particular breaks and lunchtimes.
School Leaders identified the need to improve of the variety of healthy lifestyle opportunities offered to our pupils.
How we’ll make sure these improvements are sustainable
- Staff and Governors are committed to ensuring success of this funding.
- Governors ask challenging questions of the leadership and ensure accountability.
- School Leaders ensure success through regular monitoring and evaluation of the SIP (School Improvement Plan)
- Subject leader ensures sustainability through regular evaluations and end of year reports.
